Quality, food safety and hygiene are part of the working culture at our pistachio facility. Staff training programs, continuous upgrades and independent quality audits form part of our Quality Assurance program. The plant is independently audited twice yearly against the HACCP based SQF2000 program, as well as retailer vendor quality management systems.
Our growers use integrated pest management systems to grow the pistachios without using insecticides. This is a perfect example of 'working in harmony with nature'.
Entomologists are employed to monitor and manage the ideal ecosystem to produce the finest pistachios without the use of pesticides. Mindful that the use of insecticides is disruptive to biological control, our growers use procedures to encourage beneficial birds and insects into the orchards. Pests and insects are biologically controlled by integrated pest management. Our growers manage the cover crops to improve soil structure and to create an environment for sustainable operations. Our finished product is sampled and independently tested to confirm that there are no pesticide residues in the pistachios after harvest.
We work closely with the Pistachio Growers’ Association and its research program. This strong support of research, with the support of the Australian government through Horticulture Australia Ltd, allows constant improvement in the quality of the pistachios being grown.
All of our growers maintain independently audited quality management systems.
